Initial and follow up consultations
Consultations take place in the privacy of a consultation room.
The initial consultation takes approximately 90 minutes. This includes a full and comprehensive psychological review of current and past issues. In other words the first session is about us finding out where you are at and what you might need, and you deciding if you can work with us.
Follow up consultations take approximately 50 minutes and are usually scheduled every one or two weeks depending on your schedule. Here we look at what changes have occurred and continue working toward treatment goals.
Outside of appointment times, we are happy to answer any queries that you may have about your therapy. The preferred method of contact is via email. Phone calls are accepted also, but are preferred during working hours (8am-5pm).
Finishing up
If we haven’t heard from you in a while and therapy has been interrupted for some reason (e.g., sickness, holiday) we will email you to check in with you. If we don’t receive a response to that, we will assume you are a lot better and close your file.
Cancellation policy
Fees for our services are $190 per initial session and $170 per follow up session.
A cancellation fee applies to appointments that are not attended, cancelled or rescheduled for any reason without sufficient notice.
These fees are as follows:
0-24 hours notice : Full hourly rate
25-48 hours notice : 50% of the hourly rate
This is to allow time to offer the appointment to another client who may be on a cancellation list waiting for an appointment.
Please note that we do reluctantly use debt collection services for unpaid invoices.
