Change it seminars are designed to be informative so you come away with new knowledge, but also practical and fun, so you can put strategies into your life that are based on scientific evidence.

The science of happiness? The science of what?!

We all want to be happy but have you ever considered happiness actually is?  Or what ingredients are needed to ensure lasting happiness? 

Traditionally, the field of psychology has focussed on alleviating misery but has had little to say about human flourishing.  Change it workshops explore the science of happiness from the perspective of positive psychology which focuses on strengths and well-being. 

You will learn how to increase your happiness through proven psychological methods as well as have some interesting facts to share at your next dinner party!

A one day workshop was held in March 2010 and more are planned later in the year.

Workshops and courses cover many aspects of positive psychology including

  • how happiness is as important to how long we live as not smoking
  • what the relationship to money and happiness is
  • why it is that on average over the last 50 years we have become three times richer yet no happier
  • how we incorporate the findings of the happiness literature into society
  • how we promote well-being and flourishing as well as prevent/treat mental illness
